Work Expectations 

• Represent California Teachers Association members in legal matters, including Education Code disciplinary actions, credentialing matters, and disputes with employer Districts. 
• Provide advice and counsel to association members on various employment-related issues. 
• Handle the intake and management of approximately 20-30 cases per month. 
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies. 
• Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs. 
• Represent clients in administrative hearings, court proceedings, and other legal forums. 
• Communicate and negotiate with employer Districts and opposing parties to resolve disputes. 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. 
• Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents. 
• Collaborate with colleagues and share knowledge within the organization. 
• Provide timely updates to clients and respond to their inquiries. 
• Attend meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. 
• Uphold ethical standards and professional responsibilities. 

Qualifications 

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. 
• Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
