Job description

This Environmental & Land Use Attorney position in Sacramento, California will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients involved in environmental and land use matters, including individuals, private organizations, and government agencies. The ideal candidate will assist clients in obtaining permits and approvals for land development projects, advocate for responsible environmental practices, engage in litigation and negotiation, and draft legal documents related to environmental impact assessments, zoning regulations, and land conservation agreements. They play a crucial role in helping clients navigate complex regulatory processes while balancing economic development and environmental conservation.

To qualify as an Environmental & Land Use Attorney, individuals will need a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and must pass the bar exam in their jurisdiction. In-depth knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local statutes such as the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, and Endangered Species Act, is not essential. However, a strong civil litigation foundation, legal research and writing skills, and analytical and problem-solving abilities are preferred.
