Job Description:
The ideal candidate will navigate the intricate rules of bankruptcy law with the precision of a Monopoly master, providing our clients with clear pathways to financial recovery. Your focus will be on Chapter 7s and Chapter 13s.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to discuss their financial situations and explain the bankruptcy process, options, and outcomes.
- Case Management: Handle Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases from start to finish, ensuring all filings and deadlines are met.
- Court Representation: Represent clients in bankruptcy court, advocating for their interests and negotiating with creditors.
- Asset Analysis: Analyze clients’ assets and debts to develop the best strategy for debt relief, akin to strategizing for a Monopoly game.
- Plan Development: Develop repayment plans and reorganization strategies to help clients manage their debts effectively.
- Compliance: Ensure all actions comply with the bankruptcy code and other relevant laws, avoiding any “luxury tax” pitfalls.
- Negotiation: Negotiate settlements with creditors, aiming for favorable outcomes that allow clients to retain key assets, much like holding onto Boardwalk and Park Place.
- Education: Educate clients about financial management and how to avoid future financial pitfalls.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
- Experience in bankruptcy law.
- Strong understanding of federal and state bankruptcy laws and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to think several steps ahead, like a seasoned Monopoly player.
