We are currently seeking a Litigation Associate for our Portland, Oregon office to support our expanding client base. This on-site position requires individuals with at least 3-4 years of experience in plaintiffs’ civil litigation who are energetic, detail-oriented, and driven.

Our cases are intricate and often involve numerous defendants, resulting in multi-million dollar settlements for our clients. Due to the complexity of our litigation and our unwavering dedication to our clients, our firm operates exclusively on-site, fostering a collaborative environment where teamwork is paramount.

As an associate in our Portland office, you will receive comprehensive training in asbestos litigation and swiftly assume responsibility for case management. Your duties will include case investigation, overseeing discovery, conducting and defending depositions, document analysis, motion drafting and advocacy, and trial preparation. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to serve as second or third chair during trials, with the potential to lead trials independently with sufficient experience.

Client interaction is a significant aspect of our work, as we support families during some of their most challenging times. Therefore, empathy and the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds are essential qualities for success in this role.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from ABA accredited institution and admission to the Oregon and Washington bars, or eligibility for reciprocity;
• Strong academic record;
• Excellent legal research and writing abilities;
• Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships;
• Willingness to travel frequently;
• Ability to work as an individual and as a part of a team on behalf of injured clients;
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;
• Ability to work under a deadline in a fast-paced environment;
• Commitment to plaintiff work, with at least 3-4 years’ experience.

Preferred Experience:

• This position is open to experienced associates with some trial, research and writing, and deposition experience. Candidates with judicial clerkship experience are encouraged to apply.
