Family Law Associate Attorney

A small but growing family law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its team.

What You’ll Do

• Independently manage your own family law cases from start to finish, with support from principal and senior attorneys as needed.
• Provide high-quality representation to clients.
• Maintain a reasonable caseload while supporting work-life balance.
• Bill an average of 130 hours per month, approximately 6 billable hours per workday.
• Work on an optional 3:2 hybrid/remote schedule.

What We’re Looking For

• Licensed to practice law in California.
• Ideally, at least 5 years of dedicated family law experience, with recent experience primarily or exclusively handling family law cases.
• Ability to independently manage cases, or a desire to take that next step in your career.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and strong communication skills.
• Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) certification is not required, but is highly attractive.
• This is not a junior development role and is intended for an attorney who can independently manage family law matters or is ready to take that next step.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary starting at $165,000, and up depending on experience.
• Significant performance-based and referral bonuses paid monthly.
• Performance bonuses begin at 110 billable hours per month and increase at 130 billable hours.
• Additional referral bonuses are available for cases brought to the firm.
• Bonuses are based on billing of hours rather than collection of client fees.
• Health insurance, including the firm’s contribution toward a baseline Covered California Silver-level plan.
• SIMPLE IRA with a 3% match and no waiting period.
• Unlimited vacation and sick time when billable-hour requirements are met.
• 10 federal holidays, with the firm closed from Christmas Day through New Year’s Day.
• Health insurance and retirement benefits are available with no waiting period.
